There has been a lot of controversy and speculation regarding Daniel Bryan’s in ring future over the past few months. Bryan has been cleared by more than one reputable doctor but he still has yet to be cleared by WWE’s doctors. The longer time goes on it starts to look more and more unlikely that they will ever clear him.

Now a comment posted by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Classics forum is getting some attention. Meltzer says that Daniel Bryan tried to make a move in the past by giving his notice but WWE wouldn’t let him.

“He did give notice and was told he did not have the right to give notice.” Meltzer posted.

Daniel Bryan still has time left on his contract and his contract has been frozen due to the fact that he’s been out with an injury. The situation is similar to Rey Mysterio’s recent situation with WWE where he was trying to part ways with the company but couldn’t because he still owed time on his deal because it was frozen due to his injury.

It’s worth noting that Daniel Bryan say at one point back in October that he would “absolutely” return to the indies if WWE won’t clear him.

“John Cena and I actually had this discussion. He said, ‘if something were to happen to you and the WWE, would you go back to doing the indies?’ Absolutely!” Bryan told IGN.

One way or another, Daniel Bryan is also reportedly set to appear on Raw tonight, so hopefully we’ll get a clue as to what the future holds for him and his WWE career.

  1. Thats bullshit. If he is pyshically healthy and they are refusing to clear him thats on them. He jas every legal right to leave if they arent allowing him to work. If I were him no matter what they wanted him to do tonight, I would declare myseld retired and then walk away as a big fuck you to the company.
