WrestleMania season is here and WWE is trying to round up big names for WrestleMania 32. One name that WWE is interested in bringing in is former WWE Champion Batista. It was recently reported that WWE made an offer to Batista at the Royal Rumble but he turned it down.

It’s now being reported by PWInsider that Batista was backstage at the SmackDown tapings in Orlando last week visiting friends. The report mentions that Vince McMahon once again pitched an idea for Batista to work WrestleMania and that it may have been in a special guest referee role for the rumored Triple H vs Roman Reigns match.

Batista however turned down the offer. It’s believed that he doesn’t want to return for just one match or WrestleMania moment and would rather save his return for something special. Since Batista parted ways with the company in 2014 he’s been openly critical of the creative team saying that the two sides didn’t see eye to eye during his last run.

Batista is set to start filming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” soon and that will no doubt keep him busy for several months.
