Back when WWE split up Raw and SmackDown back in 2002 it seemed like a risky move. Each brand had their own roster, their own championships and their own General Manager. Over time the concept proved to be a great idea and it gave fans two great shows to watch every week.

As more time went on though, WWE started to pay less and less attention to SmackDown and having two brands just didn’t make sense anymore. So in 2011, WWE decided to end the brand split and in 2013, they unified the two World Titles.

According to PWInsider, there is at least talk within WWE of possibly splitting the brands again. Details are slim in regards to how far along the talks are or what stage they are in. The only thing confirmed at the moment is that WWE is considering the idea.

Fans are speculating that Shane McMahon’s return and his match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania could lead to a brand split. There is of course that typo that got everyone talking recently. You know the one where a listing for Raw in Baltimore advertised the show as “Monday Night Raw vs. WWE.” The listing was confirmed to be a typo and it was later changed. But with talk of a possible brand split coming to the surface again, the typo is getting more attention than usual.
