The wrestling world has lost another legend as Roddy Piper (real name Roderick George Toombs) passed away today at the age of 61. TMZ reports that he passed away Thursday night due to cardiac arrest and was discovered in his Hollywood home Friday around noon.

Roddy Piper’s rep told TMZ:

“I am devastated at this news. Rod was a good friend as well as a client and one of the most generous, sincere and authentic people I have ever known. This is a true loss to us all.”

Piper a WWE Hall of Famer is survived by his wife Kitty and 4 children.

Vince McMahon also commented on the passing of Piper.

“Roddy Piper was one of the most entertaining, controversial and bombastic performers ever in WWE, beloved my millions of fans around the world. I extend my deepest condolences to his family” Vince McMahon said

Rest in peace Hot Rod.
