It looks like the WWE is going to be kicking that ugly old butterfly belt to the curb, because the WWE Divas division is getting a makeover. According to PWInsider and SEScoops, WWE has decided to rebrand the Divas division as the Women’s division and the change will be coming the night after WrestleMania 32.

The WWE has already commissioned a new Women’s Championship belt and it’s being reported that it looks similar to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, only smaller with a white strap. Charlotte is set to defend her WWE Divas Championship against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 32, and the winner of that match will be the first one to wear the new belt.

The WWE Divas have been a hot topic on social media for a while now as many people feel it’s time for the company to drop the word “diva.” Charlotte herself has been outspoken about the fact that she has been hoping to see the division make a change.

“It’s an honor having the Divas championship and there is lots of history behind the Divas Championship. I look at it as a new beginning for women’s wrestling so let’s have a new title. While I’m honored to have the Divas championship, this is 2016 — Let’s make it the women’s championship. But I will be privileged to represent women’s wrestling with a women’s championship or the Divas championship.” Charlotte told USA Today.

With Brie Bella reportedly retiring next week, Nikki Bella possibly out of action for good, and a new title belt on the way, it sounds like the WWE Divas/Women’s division is about to go through some major changes. What do you guys think, are you happy to hear that WWE is making the change or would you like to see the word “diva” stick around?
